Whether its in your hips, hamstrings or all in your head, tension has a way of accumulating as we hustle through the day-to-day, there are ways to reclaim some necessary ‘me’ time with just a few simple steps.

Restorative Yoga priorities stillness, relaxation and a calmer state of mind.  It is a practice that is all about slowing down, relaxing and opening your body through passive stretching.  In a class where you may hardly move at all, all postures are either taken seated or supine supported with bolsters and props.  By supporting the body with props, we alternately stimulate and relax the body and move towards balance.

In a Resorative class, postures are held for between 5 to 10 minutes and the benefits of a Restorative Yoga practice include:

Enhances flexibility in a passive way

Slow down the pace of life

Soothes and balances the nervous system

Helps to calm the mind

Reduces stress

Deeply restful
